The park is named for Sumitranandan Pant, one of the four pillars of the Chhayavaad movement in Hindi poetry, who lived and worked in this city.
It is laid out for families rather than for contemplation of the poet — rides, swings and painted murals of animals and forests. Small children like it a great deal.
